Know more about Titanium
Titanium is one of the most abundant metals on Earth. Not only the physical abundance, but the abundance of properties which allow its applications in a large section of the industrial sector. It exhibits a unique and favorable set of properties, namely low modulus of elasticity, very high resistance to corrosion by forming a passive oxide film and excellent ductility. It is highly cost efficient because of an attractive application to price ratio, and durability (relatively longer life). It has a high tensile strength almost equal to those of several low density alloys, but is approximately 40% lighter than them. High thermal stability is also one of the important properties of titanium round bars.
Titanium 5 and Titanium 2 are two of the most important alloys of the metal. Titanium 5 has excellent resistance towards crack propagation and fatigue. It works the best at ambient temperatures as it exhibits really good tensile strength and creep resistance in that range.
Chemical composition of grade 5
Titanium (Ti) | 90% |
Aluminum (Al) | 6% |
Vanadium (V) | 4% |
Iron (Fe) | 0.25% max |
Oxygen (O) | 0.2% max |
It is almost twice as strong as aluminum. It is has lesser workability and machinability than grade 2 titanium.
Titanium has numerous applications. They are used in aerospace engineering and surgical implants. They are also used in chemical industries. They are used where good electrical conductivity is required. Titanium is also used in power plant condensers because of high corrosion resistance. It is also used in desalination plants and to protect the structures of ships which are exposed to salt water. Titanium also forms major components in surgical implants like hip joint replacements and tooth implants. It also has a good aesthetic appeal because of its shiny appearance.
Moreover, Titanium is the metal of the future. Because of the multi folded benefits, it is likely to find application in the upcoming projects like in the Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Plants.
The current scenario of the alloy market
In the ever increasing competition in the market, customers are likely to get trapped in the midst of dubious practices and the commission demands of greedy middlemen. Often, the materials are unavailable or the products are not up to mark. The customers often feel lost after the delivery of products, as they have no one to attend to their after sales grievances. Most of the suppliers deal only in the standard sizes which is highly inflexible in today’s world. Due to unprofessional packing, the products lose their economic value before reaching the customers. Also, due to high industrial demand, the material which should be thoroughly checked, unfortunately fails to meet the ASTM standards. Sometimes, due to the pressure of demands, the producers end up supplying wrong grades of the alloy, resulting in major losses. The products manufactured without any mill reports are likely to yield under pressure. The alloys have poor surface finish and are too hard to be put to good use. Lack of proper knowledge often results in the supply of wrong grades, and ultimately the customer is the sufferer in this vicious circle.
Why do customers trust us?
We lay a major emphasis on making every transaction customer friendly. Our policies are majorly centered on the satisfaction of our clients. We pay attention to each and every need of the customer. We have certificates from ISO 17025 Standards Laboratory on the quality of the alloys we produce and supply. Our mill test reports are in accordance with EN10204 NACE 3.1, NACE 3.2. Third party inspection in government as well as private labs adds to the support of our claims, thus giving us the audacity to make promises of superior quality. Thus, we don’t just stay on hollow self-appreciation. We make sure to extend a helping hand to the customers even after the delivery of the product. We care for the environment as well.
Kinnari Steel convert scrap alloy to reusable form. That too, has superior quality and can be added to the stock of the new ones. The dispatch and replenishment go hand in hand to ensure that the stock is maintained. Thus, we prevent customers from facing the problem of unavailability of the raw material. They are free to consult us regarding alternate sizes and grades. They can verify the history and application of the product by tracing the heat number that we specify on each product. We are available almost every time of the year to attend to your problems and fix them in the most effective manner.
And however rare the cases may be, if required, we provide the customers with product replacement warranty. Thus we provide all round benefits to our clients to make the deal profitable for them. We are also known for our professional packaging when it comes to long distance transportation of the goods. A highly specialized team takes care of that. Our products are made in compliance with ASTM standards. We focus on maintaining correct degree of hardness and adding appropriate amount of molybdenum and other constituting metals. It is because of these factors that we proudly claim a rejection rate of less than one percent. Today we are associated with hundreds of industries and look forward to a big increment in the existing number. We leave no stone unturned in proving ourselves to be the best choice of the customers.
