Stainless steel sheet 310 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy which has an excellent combination of high temperature properties with great weldability. It is primarily used where corrosion resistance is needed at high temperature.

The alloy has high chromium content along with moderate nickel content. This composition makes it able to combat sulfidation. It can be used in moderately carburizing temperatures. It is used in slightly oxidizing, nitriding, cementing and thermal cycling applications. Grade 310S, the low carbon grade of this alloy, can be easily fabricated. The higher carbon version, 310H has enhanced creep resistance.

This alloy sheet has a large number of applications. The sheets are used in making furnace parts and heat exchangers. Oil burner parts and carburizing boxes are also made using these sheets. They also find a large application in heat treatment baskets and jigs.
