WHAT IS STAINLESS STEEL 310?

Stainless steel 310 contains high amounts of nickel and chromium that offers comparable corrosion resistance, high resistance to oxidation and retention of the larger fraction of room temperature strength than the common austenitic alloys like Type 304. Stainless 310 is often used at cryogenic temperatures, with the excellent toughness to -450°F, and low magnetic permeability.

The Oxidation resistance of stainless steel 310 is up to 2000°Fand it shows resistance to hot corrosion. The strength of type 310 is moderate at high temperature but it exhibits great strength and toughness at cryogenic temperatures.The grade has good ductility and weldability properties, combining excellent high-temperature properties with it. It is also used for intermittent service at temperatures up to 1040°C.
