SS 904L is a grade of austenitic stainless steel that is a nickel and copper based alloy. It has low carbon content and high amount of molybdenum. The copper content elevates its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid and other reducing agents in both aggressive and mild conditions.
